Adoption
The adoption process takes place in 3 steps in order to best support the new owner, the breeding and the kitten of course.
1-Visiting the cattery and reserving the kitten
In order to ensure a perfect understanding between the buyer and the breeder but also between the new owner and the cat, an appointment is mandatory. There must be an agreement between your expectations and the character of the kitten. It is just as important for you to visit the breeding conditions, the parents, and to see the kitten, as it is for us to be able to discuss your plans with you face to face.
The reservation can take place after a reflection phase and means that this kitten will be destined for you! So once the reservation contract is signed, and the deposit is paid (50% of the final price), you commit to buying the animal and if you wish to withdraw, you will not have the refund of the deposit!
2-Signing a deal
One to two weeks after the signing of the reservation contract, the sales contract must be signed and the rest of the final price is paid. The date of recovery of the kitten will be stipulated in the contract and it is from this date that you will assume full responsibility for the kitten (theft, loss, accident, illness, death).
We demand the creation of a cheque (300 euros) which will serve as a deposit for the sterilisation of the cat. This cheque will be returned to you or destroyed in the event that written proof/document from the veterinarian attesting to the sterilization of the cat is provided. The deadline for sterilization will be stipulated in the sales contract. The sterilization (300 euros) is therefore at the expense of the buyer since he buys a cat with the project "a companion cat" and not a breeding cat. In the case of a sale for reproduction/exhibition, this cheque will no longer exist, but the purchase price will be higher.
3-Taking back the kitten
On the date stipulated in the sales contract, you will go to the cattery to pick up the cat or we can come and bring it to you (the buyer can pay for transport if it is too far away). You will need to equip yourself with a carrier for the cat, and at home your new companion will need a cat tree, a litter box and many others...
The kitten will leave with the following documents: health record, identification certificate by electronic insert (chip), mandatory veterinary certificate, the accompanying booklet for advice.
If the pedigree is in the process of being created, it will be sent to you at a later date. The same goes for the ICAD.
Basic rules:
There are essentials for your kittens: food, litter, cat tree, scratching posts and toys but also and above all a cage/transport bag
Your kitten is a full member of your family, remember that this is a commitment: they can live if you give them all the love they need until they are 20 years old!
